Hodges Figgis is THE bookshop in Dublin. Located on Dawson Street just opposite Trinity College, it remained an independent bookshop from 1768 until being recently bought by Waterstones. Famously mentioned in James Joyce’s novel Ulysses, Hodges Figgis is Ireland’s largest bookshop. Founded in 1768, the shop is a book enthusiast’s dream. Located in a lovely old building, it has a fantastic selection of Irish books across all spectrums as well as the standard latest releases. It used to have a lovely café where you could take any book off the shelves, sit and have a cup of coffee and dip in.
