A great walking, running and cycling destination with spectacular views of downtown Charleston and the harbor. It is also the place of the annual Cooper River Bridge Run held every year in late March/early April where 40,000 run/walk the 10k from Mt Pleasant to downtown Charleston.

The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Cooper River in South Carolina, USA, connecting downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant. The eight lane bridge satisfied the capacity of U.S. Route 17 when it opened in 2005 to replace two obsolete cantilever truss bridges.

The Ravenel bridge is the main artery between the peninsula and Mount Pleasant. There is a walking/biking lane that affords great views of the Cooper river.
