Definitely a place to take dogs and kids. It's not far from here and a great place to spend the afternoon.

A flat beautiful walk, takes 40 minutes for a leisurely stroll or a 20 minute jog around the reservoir! Fishing and cycling is permitted too. Swans and ducks are there to be fed too.

A great walk around a local reservoir with views of Axbridge Hill, Axbridge Moorland, Cheddar hills and out towards Nyland and Glastonbury. Dogs are welcome on this walking area and there is a good amount of tarmac surfacing for children riding bikes or scooters. On the Cheddar side of the reservoir there is a scooter park and there is a good amount of parking on both the Cheddar and Axbridge entrances. While you walk you may also see windsurfers or boats on the water from the local sailing club. There is normally a good amount of bird life on the water so good for bird watching.

The reservoir is one of my favourite walks in the south west, it's an artificially created reservoir operated by Bristol Water, parking is free and it's very accessible to get to. It's such a pleasant walk to do either on your own, with you family or as I do with the dog. It takes just over an hour at a steady pace to walk around it and is such an enjoyment, be aware there are some sheep on the route so be careful with your dog's. Dogs must be kept on a lead. You can bicycle around it or the kids can scooter. The reservoir is for drinking water. No swimming allowed. Their advice is …. Reservoirs are complex machines designed to pull water in. There’s hidden machinery that cannot be seen from under the surface. There is a watersports company there called Cheddar Watersports Axbridge BS26 2DL Phone: 01934 732033
