Well worth a trip to Hathersage to visit the David Mellor shop and enjoy something to eat in their fantastic cafe. There is a museum attached to the shop and this is fascinating. The cutlery is still made in the iconic round building which used to be the village gas works.
Famous silver smith and industrial designer with his own museum, working factory tours and cafe.
The David Mellor shop sells a large range of cooking items and also houses a cafe, all located on the site of the David Mellor cutlery factory. There is a design museum displaying everything from cutlery to British road signs and traffic lights all designed by David Mellor designers.
The home of David Mellor, iconic cutler and designer of the 60s and 70s who also designed the UK traffic light! Great cafe, shop and interesting factory
