Great place to go for a swim or a surf. I would never swim outside the flags on the surf beach . Toorakina is a safe swim beach with lots of parking . A walk around the block in Brunswick heads is good for a little retail therapy and exercise rolled into one. The bakery here is always buzzing as is the ice cream shop around the corner. The Pub has special events scheduled continually over the year. Brunswick Picture house also has live performances and assures a good night out.

Brunswick Heads, swim in the river (high tide is the best time) and jump off the bridge if you're feeling extra. Bruns pub for a beer/wine in the arvo. Old Maids (brekky/lunch) or St Marie's (dinner) for a feed

15 mins from the cottage, Brunswick Heads is the perfect place to watch the sunset as you walk the Brunswick River. The Bruns Hotel is a great place to have a cold drink and a pub meal, there could be live music playing. If breakfast is your option try Footbridge Cafe or Old Maids - great coffee and freshly cooked meals.

A twenty minute drive south is the famous Bruns Pub where there is often local artists playing live at different times. Check out the gig guide. Bruns also has popular coffee shops and restaurants and a famous old bridge and walk out on the sea wall. You can check out the local attractions on the internet but a few popular ones are: - Fairy trail. - Whale watching and diving. - riverside walks. - Brusnwick Heads wall walk at the river mouth. This is a great viewing point for up and down the coast.

Worth a visit - swim in the river, the ocean, hire boats and kayaks, small play area, Family friendly pub and numerous cafes. There is also a skate bowl near the bowling club as you drive in.
