Old Civil War fort that has one of the best views of the city. Nice starting point that gets you caught up on the history of Nashville, while giving a great vantage point on the modern skyline. Free!

Civil War site near downtown, I would park at New Height, walk the loop (about 1 mile each way), walk back, grab a beer. Great view of Nashville.

Short walk from the home and spectacular views of downtown. Great for morning joggers or casual evening stroll.

Civil War Fort with a visitor center and green space to roam and read historical signs. Great backdrop of the city for photo opps if you walk all the way up into the park.
