Interactive, education and interesting. Oh and there’s no charge. Arrange a tour then take a hike just outside.

The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) sits at the top of a mesa overlooking Boulder. The Visitor Center offers fun interactive exhibits and hands-on Learning Labs. There are hiking trails that start at the rear of the building. This iconic building was designed by I.M. Pei and completed in 1967.

National Center for Atmospheric Research: Great FREE, hands-on science exhibits. Need to drive there--it's high up on the hill--but great views and kids will love it!

NCAR has a free museum open every day. Also, walking trails around the campus for avid hikers as well as families.
