DOG FRIENDLY! GREAT SUNSETS! This beach is more secluded than Sunset. It is about a mile long and super calm water. GREAT for workout swimming! Zephyr and I will do laps up and down the shore line. This tends to be the favorite spot of local nudists. It used to be a legal nude beach but was outlawed a few years ago. Those of us that have been visiting a long time feel we are grandfathered in. :-) If you like to Bare your Buns or Mams, this is the place. PLEASE be respectful to passers by and cover OR come with a wind screen. There is a great community of folks here that are welcoming and friendly especially if you enjoy sun rays where it don't usually shine AND have a dog.

Higbee Beach is a uniquely situated wildlife management area with beautiful winding trails throughout it's series of fields and forests, some of which lead to the Delaware Bay and beach. These trails are perfect for bird-watching year-round but especially during the spring and fall migration periods. If you're up for it and the tide is low, you can even walk all the way to Sunset Beach. This is a great spot for searching for sea glass, rocks and Cape May Diamonds (clear quartz that has been naturally tumbled by the tide.) This is also the only dog-friendly beach on the Island. Make sure you leash your dog if it does not do well with other dogs, as you are sure to see other people’s dogs off-leash.

Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area in Cape May is dog-friendly. This half-mile stretch of beach allows dogs on leash and under control from September through April. Parking areas near the beach may be closed during the summer. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Dog owners are reminded to clean up any mess that their pooches leave behind.
