Tips fra lokale
World famous Royal Troon is a great place to play golf which has excellent facilities and has stunning views of the Ayrshire Coast if you just fancy a walk.
A worthy and challenging companion to the Old Course, the many-times Open Championship site.
Beautiful golf course situated on the coast, in Troon. This golf course is open to non-members (at time of writing) on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between the months of April & October. However you need to have a golfing handicap to use the course. Please view the website or call to find out…
Founded in 1878 by a few enthusiasts, Troon Golf Club soon outgrew its purely local reputation. The Old Course today represents a stern golfing examination and in particular the inward half of Royal Troon is widely accepted as the most demanding of any Course on the Championship rota.

“Not cheap - but an afternoon tea at Turnberry is a really delicious treat and one you won't forget. Lovely surroundings and a chance to view one of Scotland's premier golf courses and (not a lot of people know this), you can borrow a pitching iron and putter and play their pitch and putt for free. Then you can say you have played one of the top golf courses in Scotland! Even if you are not into golf, it's good for a laugh :) Book in advance”

“Ayr Racecourse is Scotland’s only Grade 1 track and home to the jewels in the crown of Scottish Racing – the Coral Scottish Grand National Festival in April and the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup Festival in September. In 2019 we have 32 fixtures, many of them having live entertainment. There is something for everyone at Scotland’s premier racecourse.”
