Museum
“Not much is left of Memphis’ stock of grand Victorian mansions. Once known as “Millionaire’s Row,” Adams Ave was lined with stately homes before the 1960s urban renewal movement oversaw their demolition. The Woodruff-Fontaine House hasn’t changed much at all since it was constructed in 1871 for the family of carriage maker Amos Woodruff. As the other nearby homes in the area were being demolished, the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities managed to step in and save the Woodruff-Fontaine House in ‘62. These days, the space is open as a museum filled with period furniture and artifacts from the Woodruff and Fontaine families.”

“This beautiful spot atop the Madison Hotel offers the most amazing views of the Mississippi River in all of Memphis. Definitely worth stopping in for a drink & a photo op.”

Restaurant
“A faded, hand-painted sign and cornflower-blue awning greet guests of this charmingly shabby-looking BBQ joint downtown. The Cozy Corner serves Memphis barbecue classics like ribs and pulled pork sandwiches, but the restaurant truly shines when focusing on other unique offerings. Go for the barbecue cornish game hen slathered in sauce, the barbecue spaghetti and the delectable banana pudding—you won’t regret it.”

“The Fire Museum occupies the old English House Number One built in 1910. Depicts the life of a firefighter and has tons of vintage equipment. Uses advanced technology to deliver true life effects.”
