Crathes Castle is a lovely day out. In addition to going inside for a tour it has a beautiful garden to walk round. 12 miles away by car, so not far and a beautiful drive to get there.

Crathes Castle (9 miles drive) is wonderful to see, not only for the Castle itself, but the gardens are a delight. You can easily spend a day there. Also on my list is Drum Castle (4 miles from me).
