Dolphin watching from North Wall is a favourite activity - make sure to head here when the weather is overcast as this is when the dolphins really come out to play! Walk out of the back gate of the villa, across the grass and you will find North Wall - easy! Popular for walking, cycling, photographing and children on scooters. From here you can head towards the ocean or in the other direction, towards Shaws Bay, the bridge and town. You can also fish off the rocks at North Wall. Make sure to take advantage of the network of walking and cycling paths that Ballina has to offer. Starting from outside the villa.

From late May to early October you can view the Humpback Whale migration. Directions from the unit: Walk along North Creek, over Missingham Bridge and then through Shaws Bay to arrive at north wall. This is where you may see a humpback whale from the viewing area at the end of the wall or even while you having something to eat at the Lighthouse Café. Or perhaps go up and around the point to Shelley Beach Café or the Belle General for some delicious meals and beverages.

North Wall is a wonderful place to walk, run or ride. The path out to North wall follows the water all the way out to the end.

Take an easy walk out on the North Wall out to the mouth of the Richmond River. A dolphin sighting can pretty much be guaranteed.

It is a lovely walk along the River walkways out to North Wall. You can usually see dolphins chasing fish at the river mouth. Can see the surfers catching the waves. Very leisurely.
