Porthleven is 30 minutes drive from the Barn towards Helston, and is a favourite of ours on a day off. There is a coastal path from the harbour and the beach is to the left of the harbour, which when there is a swell, is brilliant to sit on and watch the surfers. There is a really foodie feel to Porthleven with the Origin coffee roastery who now do some food I understand, a great pub and a restaurant called Kota Kai if you like asian food. Definitely worth a visit.

Travel time from Poldhu approx 20 min and 9 miles - via Helston with fuel at Tesco usually the cheapest An absolutely beautiful Cornish harbour. Great place for a stroll, snack or full meal. The Mussel Shoal does great seafood (and veggie options) and drink, sit on the harbour side and watch the world go by For seated meals The Square does excellent food for all

Lovely old fishing harbour with interesting walks, places to eat and visit. Nearby Penrose walks and Loe Bar recommended .
