下館は室町時代に水谷勝氏により、下館城が建立されたときが始まり。初代城主は城を護るため、５つの羽黒神社を建立。その後、6代政村が宇都宮氏に備えて久下田城を築き、周囲に２つの羽黒神社を建立。下館に残る7つの羽黒神社である。 Shimodate began when Shimodate Castle was built by Masaru Mizutani in the Muromachi period. The first lord of the castle built five Haguro shrines to protect the castle. After that, the 6th generation Masamura built Kugeta Castle in preparation for the Utsunomiya clan, and built two Haguro shrines around it. These are the seven remaining Haguro shrines in Shimodate.
