A park that is a natural area with walks through forest or fields and a beautiful bay. When you reach one of the beaches you can see the welcome poles. The Cowichan name for this area is Hwaqwum. There is parking at the end of a country road.
There are numerous trails at this provincial park. My favourites are through the fields to the welcome poles at the beach or out to Daffodil Point.
If you’re craving open skies and sunshine, the trails at Burgoyne Bay Provincial Park are the best on island! Weekends can be busy...I recommend parking at the first parking spot you see as it can get crowded the further down the road you go. Lots of farmland, fields, marsh, plus historic barns. A…

“This park has trails and a viewpoint. Driving up the road to the park is very rough since the road is unpaved with potholes and rocks. However there is a place to park before the worst of the road and then people can walk up to the park's viewpoint.”
