The Audubon Insitute's nationally recognized aquarium is well-worth a visit. It's just next to the Canal Street Ferry Terminal and Woldenberg Park, an expansive riverfront venue. The Aquarium and the park are right next door to the historic French Quarter.

If you have a few days and a family, purchase the family membership and visit the Aquarium, Zoo, Insectarium, and IMAX Theatre at a fraction of the price. Aquarium located at the end of the Canal Streetcar Line, edge of the French Quarter.
