Close to Bodegas Ricla, this small place near the Plaza Mayor, has the best fried cod of Madrid. It has three tables and a stand up bar and it’s usually crowded. Just eat cod and have a drink.

Bacalao. Salted cod. The bacalao is a fish that's been cured and rehydrated. At Casa Revuelta they serve it battered and deep fried. It's basic neighbourhood bar, so don't expect anything too elegant.

Another classic place not to miss. Best cod in the city, together with Casa Labra. Placed in La Latina, where you will find a bunch of bars an restaurant. Any time of the day.
