Millwood House was originally built in the Millwood mining village in the Knysna forests - site of South Africa’s first modern-era gold mining boon. The building was dismantled and moved to Knysna after the mines were exhausted. It’s now one of the five buildings that make up the Knysna Museum.

There are several displays, especially on the woodcutters who came close to decimating Knysna's old growth forests. Worth a visit on a rainy day, no admission but donations are welcome.
