The Tarka Trail is a 180 mile cycle and hiking path that takes in the best of North Devon. It doesn’t technically stretch to Westward Ho!, but you can join it at Bideford and cycle down toward Instow and then along the Taw Estuary to Barnstaple and out towards Braunton. If you fancy a longer ride, you can even cycle along the expanse of sand that is the beautiful Woolacombe Beach!

We're not suggesting you walk all of it but the Tarka Trail is a 180 mile footpath inspired by the route travelled by Tarka the Otter. It traverses unspoiled countryside, dramatic sea cliffs and beautiful beaches AND passes within a mile or so of Old Church House.
