This is Jefferson County Open Space. Not crowded, great Colorado hiking, close to the city, good for snowshoeing (if we've gotten a good snowfall recently). Free.

Park at the east trailhead (lower lot) if you want a serious challenge for a hike or MTB ride -- parking down here allows you the experience to gain Belcher Hill (3.5+ miles straight up with 1,700+ feet of elevation gain). If Belcher Hill doesn't sound like the challenge you want (don't worry -- it sucks -- but it is a rite-of-passage for fitness freaks), park at the west side of the park at the Raw Hide Loop Trail Head, which is the "top" of the park. Numerous trails branch off from the Raw Hide TR with awesome views of the Front Range and lots of good tree cover (which isn't super common in the area). Serious mountain bikers will want to do the Longhorn Trail -- it's rated a black diamond, but it's a bikes-only downhill and is one of the best downhill trails on the FR.
