I love 21c and Counting House for their bar. The staff is great, the art can be weird (or absolutely fabulous), and the drinks are always top notch.
Amazing menu, delicate food, and presentation is beautiful! A must for date or business
The bar at Durham’s “Art Hotel” 21 C. (The Counting House is also a pretty tasty, higher priced restaurant.) Grab a drink and browse the art on display in the floors above, or ask for a tour of the vault. All exhibits are free of charge and available to view 24/7.
Fun artwork throughout the restaurant and bar alongside creative menu. If you go alone to the bar they will have a bright fushia penguin accompany you. Querky but thoughtful vibe.
Old bank turned into a boutique hotel with a public art gallery, restaurant and bar. You can even go into the vault!

“So much fun! This place looks a little sketchy from outside, but once in there are friendly tenders, a diverse group of people, boccie ball, pool table, darts, and that game where you slide pucks on a long wooden table with sand (:-) plenty of seating.”
