Pebbles and extraordinarily dark sand made of pounded grey slate form this rural beach. The same slate gives a brilliant deep blue colour to the water in the ‘Blue Lagoon’; a beautiful little harbour – a breached quarry – just to the north of the beach which is accessible for wheelchair and scooter users. Be aware Abereiddy beach has strong currents. This is a popular spot for coasteering, climbing along the cliffs at sea level, leaping into the sea if you reach an impassable bit. Please enjoy coasteering as part of an organised group. Alongside the old quarry are a row of ruined cottages to explore.

If you love diving then visit here! Red Bull have used this location for 2 years for their diving competitions. Park up in Abereiddy and walk up a slightly steep part of the coastal path.

Tiny beach, safe swimming, nearby Blue Lagoon worth a visit.

Extra ordinary Coastline. Old Quarry known as The Blue Lagoon with turquoise waters that provides Coasteering groups with a fantastic place to jump into the water from quarry rocks. Some of the oldest "tuning fork" fossils can be found here at low tide. An old street of miners cottages are very interesting.

Famous for cliff jumping, the stunning Blue Lagoon is well worth a visit. Whether you want the adrenaline rush of high cliff jumps or simply a gorgeous swim and a picnic, this is well worth a visit. Beautiful walks in either direction along the coast path too if you want to extend the day. If you have a kayak or SUP you can either launch from Abereiddy beach by the carpark, or if its too rough walk the 5 mins to the blue lagoon. Just be aware that in the summer peak season the car park get full fairly early in the day so you may want to factor that in. Further parking is usually available up the hill, but if you have lots too carry an early start may be better.
