Just at the top of Bude Street, Appledore the Maritime Museum gives you are real feel for the history of the village from early settlers to more recent ship building activites.

I've not been but heard good things about this place. There are lots of history of sailing in Appledore so if you want to know more have a look! 30mins drive from the accommodation.
