Some say it’s a sin to visit Kuching without having a bowl of its kolo mee. Unique to Sarawak, kolo mee is a combinational of noodles, meat and vegetables tossed in a transparent sauce. A Sarawakian Chinese favourite, kolo mee is different from the wantan mee served in the peninsular Malaysia due to the fact that the former is not drenched in dark soy sauce.  Situated close to the riverfront, the kolo mee at Chong Choon Café is within walking distance from many popular hotels located along the Sarawak River. The springy noodle of the kolo mee here is perfectly complemented by the minced pork and the red char siew. Don’t let the plate fool you, it is in fact a deep bowl and the noodles run deep. The food court attracts patrons from all faiths due to the variety of food found under the same roof, an example of the beauty of Sarawak.

Great breakfast place serving local dishes like laksa and kolo mee ( noodle ), local tea and coffee. There's also toast and half boil eggs. Anthony Bourdain was here filming a documentary. Teh O: Tea with sugar only. Teh O kosong: Tea without sugar and milk. Teh C : Tea with evaporated milk and sugar. Teh C kosong: Without the sugar. Kopi O: Coffee with sugar only. Kopi O kosong : without the sugar. Kopi C : Coffee with sweetened milk/evaporated milk. Kopi C kosong : without the sugar. If you want it cold with ice, add the "peng" at the back of the name. e.g Teh C peng. The store at Abell has closed. Go to main store at Jalan Ban Hock, near end of Jalan Song Thian Cheok.

One of the best Sarawak Laksa in town. Must also try their soft-boiled eggs, toast and three-layed tea.
