The Mitchell Block always delivers quality upscale-casual dining. They are best know for their house made pasta and intimate ambiance.

We were encouraged to try this night spot by a local columnist who included the Mitchell Block on his list of "comfort food" havens across Winnipeg. A night club with a menu? We had to check it out. We took our time heading up the steep stairs leading to this atmospheric night club on McDiarmid Street in the East Exchange. We were directed to seats in the bar section, rather than at one of the many empty tables (they were apparently all reserved). The sofa-style chairs were far apart, and made conversation difficult. The underwhelming mac'n cheese was the last thing on our mind as we concluded the evening with a promise to come back at a future date to try the the cocktails and dancing rather than the menu. A favourite Winnipeg restaurant in the historic exchange district. Quality food by a great chef. Great place for a nice meal. Fun lounge upstairs as well.
