This is another Jeffco Open Space Park. Nice picnic area along the Platte River. It also has nice hiking. This is about a 25 minute drive away. It can be a stop on my recommended Platte River drive.

Pine Valley ranch is a daily ritual for me. Short hikes, fishing (with license) or take a quick jaunt around the lake. Great place for stocked trout fishing (with license) at the lake or try fly fishing on the North Fork of the South Platte River that runs through the park. Take a picnic lunch and sit by the river on a picnic table. Try the 3 mile loop hike for a spectacular view of the lake and valley. Free

A 15 minute drive away, this park sits by a lovely lake, with many trails. Quieter than many of the other parks. Take a sack lunch and picnic.
