Seaside city on the northern gulf coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a 30-40 minute drive from the city center, depending on traffic. The relaxed city comprises mostly of locals escaping from the heat of Mérida. There is a small board walk with numerous restaurants. The restaurants vary from extremely casual to casual. The specialty of most of the restaurants is, no surprise, seafood. Food and drink are abundant. There is a beach and you can swim most of the year.
