Chavelas is a staple to Franklin ave. They have great Mexican eats and cocktails as well as a lively interior along with outdoor seating they are often packed and for good reason.

Ask many people in the neighborhood where to have brunch, and they'll recommend Chavela's. For that reason, we had to put it here. To be honest, though, the food is not outstanding. Neither are the drinks and the wait on weekends can be several hours. Maybe we're food snobs, but we've been several times and it's always just... fine.
