Catch an early ferry from Ardrossan (a 45 min drive from Doonbank) and within an hour you will arrive on what is often described as 'Little Scotland'. Lots to do - from amazing walkin up Goats Fell, to visiting a whole host of attractions around the island. Book in advance. A great day out.

2 hours from Glasgow ( train and ferry) and feels like being so far away. 'Scotland in Miniature' with great walk up Goatfell, doable easily as a day trip

“Not cheap - but an afternoon tea at Turnberry is a really delicious treat and one you won't forget. Lovely surroundings and a chance to view one of Scotland's premier golf courses and (not a lot of people know this), you can borrow a pitching iron and putter and play their pitch and putt for free. Then you can say you have played one of the top golf courses in Scotland! Even if you are not into golf, it's good for a laugh :) Book in advance”
