Beautiful high lake and hiking assessed by dirt road. There is also a private resort located adjacent to the lake.
A MUST SEE, quintessential Colorado. only open during the summer months. Gorgeous views, easy accessible hiking available, wildlife sightings frequently. Rent a canoe or paddle board & go out on the lake. We love to hike & then order the wings & feta/watermelon salad on the lake....delicious!…
Beautiful setting back away from everything. The road to get in there is rough but once you are there it is fabulous. If you go at dusk or sunrise there is a good chance you may spot moose. You get there by going up Red Sandstone Road and then follow the turn off. Also they have horseback riding…
May require 4WD, its 12 miles of dirt road straight outta Vail. But you can basically drive right up to an alpine lake and its lovely. Camp here too!
The drive to Piney Lake is beautiful and the phot opps are breathtaking. You can canoe, kayak and paddleboard (rent them in town). There is a small restaurant, but I recommend packing a picnic.
