Boreas Pass

Boreas Pass is an off-the-beaten-path way to get to Breckenridge. It follows an abandoned railroad grade that used to connect the town of Como to the town of Breckenridge in the Gold Rush days, so there are fascinating relics of the era along the way with interpretive signs. In the fall, it is THE place to see fall colors in Colorado.
Take in some of the best views Colorado has to offer with this drive/hike. While it is closed during the winter months, the Boreas Pass is lined with aspens and is a gorgeous fall drive. The Highline Rail Road once travelled down French Street up the Boreas Pass carrying supplies from Denver to Leadville.
