This takeout bakery makes the most authentic Caribbean pastries in Brooklyn. Customers line up for its sweet breads and cassava pone, a dense, pudding-like cake served in slices. You’ll find it in a corridor of shops along Nostrand Ave. known as the Little Caribbean, so grab a couple of treats then go eat your way around the neighboring shops. I can’t leave without getting one of the coconut or currant rolls. They’re both perfectly flaky on the outside and moist and doughy on the inside, with a hint of sweetness.
Tips fra lokale
Currant rolls and fresh baked bread are daily offerings at this neighborhood staple. Get yourself a taste of the fresh, goodness but be prepared to wait in line. They recently applied for liquor license.
For all the Island pastries, bread and treats. Order your birthday cakes in advance.
A traditional Carribbean bakery... there is always a line up but it moves fast. My favorite are the codfish balls!

“Charming wine shop with an entire wall of $12 bottles. This well-stocked and unassuming shop on Nostrand was tastings, live music, a good selection and excellent vibes. They also feature locally produced spirits. Get a bottle of Haitian clarin and consider yourself fortunate.”
