The essence of Algonquin is in its vast interior of maple hills, rocky ridges, and thousands of lakes – This 7,635 square kilometres provincial park is full of forests, bogs, lakes and rivers. The Algonquin park along the 56-kilometre stretch of Highway 60 is where you can enjoy camping at one of eight campgrounds, and hike one of 14 interpretive trails. You also have a wide range of biking trails, and superb fishing opportunities including world-class trout fishing and amazing wildlife viewing and photography opportunities. Algonquin park is excellent birding opportunities with spring migrants along with some resident specialty birds. This park has year-round options with each season offering unique and inspiring activities. Fall (Autumn) is a spectacular time to visit Algonquin Park. Thousands of visitors from around the world are attracted by the outstanding fall color viewing opportunities, but there are many things to see and do. The park offers just as much for visitors in the winter as it does in the summer. Come see the wide variety of activities including camping, comfortable yurts, skiing, snowshoeing and skating.

Huntsville is the gateway to Algonquin Park. Lots of daytime hiking trails, one day canoe or kayak excursions, beaches for swimming and waterfalls. The Logging Museum near the East Gate is a great walking tour. Check out the Alligator (it's a logging boat).
