The hike is a loop with a river crossing, stunning views of Mt Hood and a nice waterfall in the middle. Its very popular in the summer and requires a parking pass that can be picked up in Zigzag OR before heading up to the trailhead.

Great hike but you will need to cross the river by foot to get to the falls. The foot bridge washed out and is not expected to be replaced.

“Local eatery/tavern. Wraps, burger, fries, etc. Local brews, decent coffee. I am allergic to gluten so there is not much I can eat here except the corn tortillas, but they are pretty good and very cheap so I have been happy to come back a couple of times. Laid-back causal place, nice outside area with picnic tables, grass, cornholes, and horseshoe games.”
