Another pool that was reopened after a long campaign by a local group, Brixton’s Brockwell Lido is well-loved by the local community. It’s a protected 1930s Art Deco gem, with a 50-meter unheated pool that’s open year-round. There’s lots of room for sunbathing, and it’s in lovely Brockwell Park where you can wander after. The café at the lido is award-winning. Sit outside on the terrace by the pool on warm days or in the bright interior when it’s chillier. All day weekend brunch options include kedgeree, a hearty Indian rice dish. It’s open daily until 5 pm and for dinner in the summer months too.

The amazing lido at Brockwell is the perfect spot for an outdoor swim. There's a full gym there too. You may want a wetsuit during the winter as it's not heated!
Nestled in the corner of Brockwell Park, the lido is a 50m pool flanked by sun bathing terraces and fully enclosed by a boundary wall and long, low, flat-roofed pavilion buildings in a moderne style. These have been sensitively restored and extended to provide new health and fitness facilities…

“Perhaps one of London's loveliest leafy expanses, Brockwell Park has become a mecca for fun-loving kiddies. Often termed "Brixton's Beach", the park is remarkable for its large lido, now one of the few remaining outdoor swimming pools in London. It is an ideal place to take a dip in the summer and catch some rays.”

“The Ritzy cinema opened in 1911 and was one of England’s earliest purpose built cinemas, seating over 750 seats in the single auditorium. This beautiful Victorian cinema is a 20 minute walk from the flat.”

“One of London’s premier live music venues, the 4,921-capacity Brixton Academy has booked an unbelievable roll-call of music talent since it opened in 1983. Previously this building had been the Astoria Cinema, completed in 1929. Although the lower seating was removed when the cinema was converted in the 70s, a lot of the original neo-Renaissance details remain, like a proscenium arch, false loggia, balustrade and Corinthian columns.”
