Vail is only an hour away from Breck and is another great ski resort for long and technical runs, only downside is the drive and parking fees.
At the top of our favorites, Vail has over 5,000 acres of ski trails and a beautiful Swiss-style village with shops and eateries. Skiing doesn't get any better!

1h 30 min drive to get to the resort (plan ahead if you're traveling to on a Friday or Saturday and returning on a Sunday as traffic can be REALLY bad.

“In the summer the gondola is working so go site seeing or hiking at the ski resort. Summer ice skating is available at specific times. Look at the Vail Daily News paper for special events here and at Nottingham Lake in Avon and in Vail.”
