The first Greek Capital, Nafplio, needs more than one day to explore. Old city market, Palamidi, Bourtzi, Akronauplia, the Constitution Square, Medieval fortresses and prisons. All these in a Mythical City 50 minutes away from your residence by car.

Nafplion is in my opinion one of the most beautiful old citys in Greece. Stroll, do some shopping, visit one of the many restaurants and maybe have a coffe or drink at the square for some peoplewatching.

Nafplion historic city is located 133.5 klm from Stavrianna Farm, 1h 35 min easy driving. Nafplio is probably the most beautiful town in Greece. It was the first capital of Greece. It is a very picturesque port with many pedestrian roads full with cafes and restaurants. On top of it at 214 meters altitude is a Venetian castle with amazing views. You can combine this visit with Ancient Epidaurus and Ancient Mycynae.

Nafplio looks like a stunning little Italian city at first glance. However, it is a mix of styles, including Venetian, Byzantine and Ottoman. Admire the many old buildings that date back two hundred or so years. Part of the old town also sits on a peninsula that juts out onto the gulf. Walk among the picturesque bougainvillea clad streets and just enjoy the day. The town of Nafplio is super beautiful indeed. If you need a break from walking, ride on the colorful city tour train or tour the old town on a fun bike. Also be sure to enjoy the seafront promenade. Sunsets color the bay in hues of orange and red.
