World Bank consultant-turned-bartender Chris Hassaan Francke found a permanent home for his roaming Middle Eastern pop-up in a two-level Adams Morgan space in 2018. The upstairs Club de la Résistance hosts events like queer Arab nights, free dabke classes, and DJs from across the globe. The relaxed downstairs bar incorporates decor that reminds Francke of his family in Iraq and Lebanon, including traditional coffee pots, shelves of Johnnie Walker Black, and vintage posters.

Head up to Adams Morgan for a truly unique bar scenario. The music is loud and the drinks are strong and it's always crowded.
