Just down from Mount Pleasant you'll find Vancouver's Olympic Village. Named after the athletes village from the 2010 Winter Olympics, This neighborhood is one of Vancouver's newest. Built right on False Creek, you have access to the seawall where you'll find people hanging out, biking, jogging and walking. Situated at the top of False Creek, Olympic Village began life as the Athletes Village during the 2010 Winter Olympics, which were held in Vancouver, the North Shore, and Whistler. Take a trip on the water via ferry or kayak, ride the SkyTrain, or bike the seawall to get to Olympic Village, which is only a five-minute drive from the center of Downtown Vancouver. Great restaurants here: The flying pig, Ernest Icecream, Tap & Barrel (right on the water - beautiful views of the city + science world), Gusto Italian cafe, CRAFT beer market, Bao Down, Ophelia mexican.
