Awesome hike. Only 14 miles away. There are 3 trails up this mountain. The one I did was longer but less steep. There is also a fire tower on the top of this mountain. This is NOT a 46er but I thought when I climbed it that it was. My mistake but still worth it. Rock top, bring food and wear hiking boots!!! your feet will thank you . Follow the markers and STAY ON THE TRAIL !!! There is a group that climbs all the mountains with firetowers, this seems like a neat group. I have fire tower scratch offs in Sparkle if this is something you are interested in. Fire towers are necessary in our area as we need them to alert us should there be a fire. People man some of these towers at certain times of the year.
