It´s something unique in Opatija. American Gardens, or by the "Opatija" Merican Gardens are located on Opatija's New Road, spanning eight thousand square meters and have a rich history dating back to the first half of the 20th century. Specifically, the Botanical Garden overlooking the entire Kvarner was built in 1926 by a Hungarian named Kuczor, who enriched himself as a merchant in America, and the gardens were called American. A newly constructed overpass bridge leads to the gardens.
