Mattie’s is a beautiful, massive 19th century home on a large property full of Live Oak trees. Dine outside for a yummy southern brunch or go indoors to check out the antique chic lounge. This place has dinner as well but we loooove the brunch. Reservations are required and they tend to fill up fast.

A Southern haven located in South Austin on the grounds of an old estate. Either sit outside amongst the Live Oaks and peacocks or go inside to the newly renovated interior that has a sophisticated yet approachable setting. Have an old fashioned in the quaint upstairs bar and try the two best dishes on the menu: the cauliflower and the biscuits.

Mattie's has to make two appearances in any good Bouldin guide. Not only is it known for its peacocks, but they serve up a mean southern brunch, milk punch and all. Reservations are recommended.
