Just a 20-minute drive away in Soldotna! This visitor's center has great exhibits to learn more about the refuge's history, flora, and wildlife. Venture into the refuge itself for plenty of hiking, camping, and boating opportunities! Don't forget to bring your bug spray if you're out adventuring!

Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is a great place for a quick hike with good views, go down Skilak Lake Road, past Hidden Lake campground, to Skilak Lake Lookout Trail.

Year-round, the center is a great place to meet with rangers, get maps, plan your activities, and learn about wildlife. You’ll also find regular talks, like bear awareness, for example, guided walks on Refuge trails, and hands-on programs for all ages.
