The George & Dragon Pub has won lots of awards and is a great community hub, with lots going on, circular walking routes, and welcomes dogs. It’s a 12-minute drive from the stable block and worth a visit. The George & Dragon, Hudswell, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6BL.

Great pies, great beers and lovely views. An hour walk through Hudswell National Trust Woods (or a few minutes drive).

The George and the Dragon Hudswell – 17 minute drive. Slightly further away but well worth a mention. If you visit Richmond and fancy a charming pub for lunch or supper, or you’re in to fantastic collections of real ales (CAMRA Pub of the Year 2016), this pub is well worth a visit. It’s a community run pub that draws on massive support from the whole area. Very much a plain Yorkshire pub with a beer garden with breath taking views down Swaledale and walks in to Richmond. It’s worth the journey and the rabbit pie is a locals favourite. Dog friendly throughout, the pub is a must for any dog walks from Richmond along the Swale. 01748 518373 | IG @TheGeorgeAndDragonHudswell www.georgeanddragonhudswell.co.uk A suggested 3km walk below to the George and the Dragon from Richmond. If you follow the river out of Richmond to the West, the path leads you through Hudswell woods to steep steps on your left, climb these steps and following the path at the top which brings you in to Hudswell village. The pub will be close by on your left.
