España obtuvo en 1968 el templo de Debod, en agradecimiento por la ayuda prestada en el salvamento de Abu Simbel. Reconstruido y abierto al público
desde 1972, el templo de Debod constituye uno de los pocos testimonios arquitectónicos egipcios que pueden verse completos fuera de Egipto.
