It is currently the home of Lord Edward Manners (brother of the current Duke) and his family. In form a medieval manor house, it has been described as "the most complete and most interesting house of its period". The origins of the hall date to the 11th century. “At Carsington Water you can walk or cycle (bikes for hire) around the lake - 9 miles - you can hire a boat, fish or study the fabulous wildlife from the hides . Art installations are fun and accessible. The visitors centre houses a good restaurant, a few gift shops and ice-cream parlor. There is a good size playground for the children and lots of grass areas to have a picnic. ”
