Forthright definitely has a lot of hype, and although it’s slightly overpriced (not shocking, they’re right downtown) the food is really delicious. Their menu has a little bit of everything from chicken and waffles to breakfast tacos, plus plenty of GF options if that’s your thing, but we highly recommend trying their avocado toast. It’s the avocado toast of all avocado toasts, with thick cut bread, generous portions of smashed avocado, and crushed red pepper and pepitas. Ask for poached eggs on top and a side of bacon.

If you live or work downtown, the cafe/restaurant Forthright should be added to your breakfast, lunch, and coffee rotation. Tucked away on the corner of Cesar Chavez and Brazos, Forthright’s light, bright space is polished enough for a work meeting, or you can camp out with a laptop at the wooden bar in the mornings.. There’s also an elaborate tea and matcha drinks menu - one of the biggest in town.

Nice a health conscious cafe in downtown Austin. Great for lunch during the week or brunch on the weekends!
