Pheasant Branch offers a nice combination of prairie and wooded trails. There are mud pots by the spring.
Peaceful walk. Deer and crane sightings possible. Give yourself at least 90 minutes if you’re going all the way around. See Pheasant Branch (dot) org for directions and maps. Watch the crane camera from Madison and beyond!
The 550-acre conservancy protects Pheasant Branch Creek, which supplies Lake Mendota with 1,800 gallons of crystal-clear water every minute. Visitors will find extensive nature trails running throughout this oasis of pristine woods and wetlands. Beautiful trails for walking, running, biking.
