Tremendous views from a ridge line that descends into The Canyon! Blasted out of the rock by Havasupai laborers, this man made trail has inspired travelers for nearly 100 years. Logical turnaround points are at Ooh Aah Point (2 mile round trip, 600' down and up), Cedar Ridge (3 miles round trip,1,140' down and up), and Skeleton Point (6 miles round trip, 2,040' down and up).

Your best option for a quick hike into the Grand Canyon from the South Rim. We're both somewhat experienced hikers, and on a fine late April weekend it took us 2 hours or so to hike the 3 miles round trip to Cedar Ridge and back, the perfect vantage point for experiencing the Canyon up close. Can't wait for next time, with more time, when for sure we'll descend further into the Canyon on South Kaibab Trail.
