Our local county park a few minutes walk. Multiple swimming areas. Great for paddle boarding. In the summer, we love going there in the late afternoon (after 4pm) after crowds disperse.

The Russian River Hideaway is about a 10 minute drive to Steelhead Beach (9000 River Rd near Mirabel Rd.; 7am-sunset; $7 per vehicle to park). Seasonal fishing and access to the Russian River for small craft such as drift boats, kayaks, and canoes. An excellent spot for birding, viewing river wildlife, and for picnicking.
